SMT Technician III – Xray Programmer/Operator

The X-Ray Programmer/Operator is responsible for advanced inspection, programming, and troubleshooting of X-ray inspection systems used in surface mount manufacturing. This role combines deep SMT process knowledge with ownership of X-ray inspection strategy, optimization, and defect analysis.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7AM – 3:45PM

The skills you need to succeed:

  • You must be able to lift 30 to 35 lbs (2-3 times per hour).
  • You must pass a pre-employment vision exam (all candidates must be able to accurately distinguish colors used to identify electronic components, indicators, and markings).
  • You must have a excellent understanding of assembly equipment and electronics.
  • You must have the ability to work self-directed.
  • You must have the ability to work and lead as a member of a team.
  • You must have the ability to work in environments experiencing routine and rapid change.
  • You must have excellent organization and decision-making skills.
  • You must have a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • You must have the ability to read schematics.

Education & experience of a successful candidate:

  • 2-year college degree in electronics or related field or 4 years direct experience, or 8+ years of experience in an equivalent field
  • Certification(s) for electronic assembly equipment
  • Trained in implementing lean manufacturing practices and /or trained in Six Sigma.
