Engineering Documentation Control Specialist
As an Engineering Documentation Control Specialist, you will own the coordination, accuracy, and release of engineering documentation within Enercon’s PLM/PDM environment. You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to create and maintain part records, drawings, BOMs, and labeling documentation, while ensuring change requests are processed consistently and efficiently. Through disciplined document control practices and strong attention to detail, you will enable predictable product releases and support continuous improvement of Enercon’s documentation processes.
In the role of Engineering Documentation Control Specialist:
- You will collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, component specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- You will create and maintain part entries, document records, and associated metadata within Enercon’s PLM/PDM system and other applicable databases.
- You will perform technical drafting tasks using common CAD and documentation tools to support engineering documentation needs.
- You will process engineering change requests (ECRs) and coordinate implementation with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other internal stakeholders.
- You will review ECRs for correctness and completeness, identifying required inputs, reviewers, and downstream impacts needed for implementation.
- You will review documentation generated through the change process for accuracy, completeness, and readiness for release, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
- You will develop and maintain controlled documentation for production labeling and related manufacturing documentation needs.
- You will maintain and improve document control procedures and templates to increase consistency, efficiency, and compliance in the ECR/ECO and release processes.
- You will foster strong working practices within the design team through clear communication, responsiveness, and consistent application of documentation standards.
The skills you need to succeed:
- You must have exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-through to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
- You must have working knowledge of standard ECR/ECO processes, controls, and best practices, with the ability to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
- You must have familiarity with PLM/PDM tools used to manage parts, documents, revisions, and change workflows.
- You must demonstrate proficiency with drafting and documentation tools such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks; familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus.
- You must have strong organizational skills with the ability to self-manage priorities across multiple concurrent requests.
- You must have the ability to follow established design and documentation procedures and produce work aligned with Enercon standards.
- You must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
Education & experience of a successful candidate:
- A minimum of a 2-year degree in a related engineering/technical discipline or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in documentation control or a related field
