As the Associate Buyer for the organization, your responsibilities will focus primarily on administrative support of the Buying team.  You may be asked to contact vendors for information/bids, identify new and alternative supply sources and address returns and delivery schedules. You may also be asked to assist in coordinating with Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Control to plan the purchasing of materials, establish JIT schedules, resolve quality and delivery issues, and inform others of pricing, product availability and expected delivery dates.

In the role of Associate Buyer:

  • You will support the Buying team in purchasing and scheduling materials.
  • You will support the Buying team in obtaining material quotes.
  • You will support the Buying team in managing vendor qualification and assessment.
  • You will support the Buying team by providing supplier support and direction.
  • You will support the Buying team when asked by participating in continuous improvement efforts throughout the business.
  • You will support the Buying team with new product launches and legacy procurement initiatives.

  • You must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • You must have the ability to multitask.
  • You must have solid organizational skills.
  • You must be a self-starter, possessing high degree of self-motivation.
  • You must understand MRP/ERP.
  • You must have the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.

Education and experience of a successful candidate:

  • Previous buying experience or Associates Degree or Technical College Degree in Electronics or Business
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft applications.
