Facilities Technician

Manufacturing, Full Time

Summary:

The primary role of the Facilities Technician is to identify, schedule, coordinate and implement preventive and corrective maintenance actions on assigned buildings, building subsystems and grounds care as assigned by the department supervisor.

Functions & Responsibilities

In the role of Facilities Technician:

  • You will conduct routine and special inspections using checklists, maintenance documents and computer resources.
  • You will quickly and accurately identify problems relating to electrical, mechanical systems or HVAC systems.
  • You will coordinate with supervisor on needed maintenance actions and repairs to include contractor support when required.
  • You will expedite the purchase of repair parts and subcontractor support as necessary.
  • You will actively identify and report safety deficiencies and safety improvement opportunities in the workplace.
  • You will have willingness to work after hours and emergencies if required.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • You must have an ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
  • You must have basic computer skills to include familiarization with Word, Excel, and email.
  • You must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical documents.
  • You must have mechanical skills sufficient to implement basic building and equipment repairs.
  • You must have practical knowledge of electrical systems and HVAC Systems.
  • You are neat and organized in all work matters
  • You are able to meet the established physical requirements of the position to include use of step ladders.

Educational Requirements

Education & Experience Required:

  • A 2-year degree in Electromechanical Technology or similar technical degree.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of working experience with mechanical, electrical or HVAC systems.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
